Formed in 1988, Turbine Motor Works (TMW) is a member of the Kruses Capital Group of companies, which also includes Total Accessory Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (TAMRO) and Inventory Management Works. Kruses Capital Group is owned by Turbine Lease Company LLC of Connecticut USA.

To accommodate overall growth, and introduction of overhaul operations for the CF6, Turbine Motor Works acquired and relocated to the former RAF Upwood technical site in Cambridgeshire in February 2004. CF6 and JT3D overhaul operations recommenced during 2004 following site restoration to meet engine overhaul infrastructural needs.

Overhaul support for wheels and brakes was introduced in March 2005. Turbine Motor Works, providing component repair operations for the JT3D, JT9D and CF6 engines will be opening in January 2007. Additionally, TAMRO's new accessory overhaul capability, providing support for hydraulic, pneumatic, oil, fuel, electrical and airframe structural equipment will also be opening in January 2007.
